Terms
Terms of service
The short version: CipherPad is free, runs in your browser, and is offered as-is. Use it sensibly and it is yours to enjoy.
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Using the site
CipherPad provides free cipher and code translators plus reference guides. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, so you do not need an account and you do not need to give us any personal information.
The service is provided as-is
The tools and content are provided for general, educational, and everyday use, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep the translators accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every result is correct or fit for a particular purpose. Do not rely on the site for anything where a mistake would cause harm, loss, or legal consequences.
Not for securing real secrets
Classic ciphers such as Caesar, Vigenere, and Atbash are historical and educational. They are not secure encryption and must never be used to protect sensitive or private information. For real security, use modern, audited encryption tools.
Acceptable use
Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, abuse it with automated overload, or use it to break the law. The embeddable widget may be placed on other sites as described on the embed page, as long as you do not misrepresent it as your own product.
Content and ownership
The CipherPad name, design, and original written content belong to us. The text you type into a translator is yours and stays in your browser, as explained in the privacy policy.
Links and third parties
The site may link to other websites, and may in future display advertising. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites. Any advertising is governed by the ad provider's own policies.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the date above will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
